Nazareno Rodrigues Alves (São Paulo SP 1967). Designer, sculptor, and multimedia artist. Born in Sao Paulo, the artist moves to spends his childhood and adolescence in Fortaleza, Ceará. In 1987, he relocates to Brasilia, and receives his BFA from Universidade de Brasília (UnB) in 1998. In 1999, he participates in the traveling edition of Vertentes Contemporâneas - Rumos Visuais Itaú, in Fortaleza and Recife, Pernanbuco. In the couple of years that follow, he exhibits his work at the Instituto Itaú Cultural, São Paulo, e no Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro (MAM/RJ), as part of the program.
In 2002, Nazareno participates in the Faxinal das Artes residency in Faxinal do Céu, Paraná. In that same year, he is awarded at the Salão de Artes Visuais de Brasília for his work, Para Mim Só Sobrou o Berço de Prata (2001). In 2003 he participates in another residency in São Paulo. In 2004, he self publishes the book, São as Coisas que Você Não Vê que nos Separam.
In 2013 he participated at the Instituto Hilda Hilst (SP) residency.
